Nothing is quite as beautiful as soft, smooth, vibrant looking skin. Over time, the effects of aging and the elements begin to show on all of our faces. Since 1996 medicine has seen dramatic improvements in the ability of lasers to retard and/or reverse these outward signs of aging. However, most busy patients don't want to spend a lot of time away from their active lifestyles recovering from laser resurfacing. Fortunately, Microlaserpeel is performed by our doctor for patients in our region with great results and very little downtime.
What is a Microlaserpeel?
A Microlaserpeel is the latest advancement in skin resurfacing. The Microlaserpeel is performed using a laser that combines the best features of the Erbium and CO2 laser procedures, while eliminating the drawbacks of each.
How is a Microlaserpeel different from other treatments?
Our doctor performs Microlaserpeels for patients in our region to program a specific treatment plan for each patient. Microlaserpeels can remove up to 50 microns of aged and sun-damaged tissue. This allows for the treatment of many unwanted skin conditions such as wrinkles, scars, acne scars, skin laxity, keratoses and pigmentary problems with limited downtime.
Compared to the multilevel laser resurfacing, patients treated with a Microlaserpeel heal in a fraction of time. This is because the procedure produces only minimal tissue damage which results in less sloughing, less oozing and the intensity and duration of post-operative swelling is also greatly reduced.

How many Microlaserpeels will I need?

What about recovery from a Microlaserpeel?
After our doctor performs your Microlaserpeel, there is much less post-operative redness, less swelling and a more rapid healing compared to other skin resurfacing methods. The skin is healed in 2 - 4 days, depending on the depth of the peel and in most cases patients are fully recovered and back to normal within 5 days. Post-operatively, the treated area will resemble a sunburn for about 3 days. Any minimal discomfort is easily controlled with medication. Sunblock should be applied when in the sun.
